Associate Services with Connections

Use the Service Manager to create groups of services and associate those services with a connection. This is useful if you want to group all database services (agent, reporting, job scheduler, etc.) so you can start, stop, or pause them at the same time. If any services associated with this connection are not running, they automatically start when you log into them using Toad.

Notes:

To associate a service with a connection

  1. Right-click a connection in the Connection Manager and select Service | Manager.

  2. Click and review the following for additional information:

    Host

Enter the name of the host on which the services run. This field can be blank for the local host.

    Connections associated

Select a checkbox beside one or more connections that you want to associate with the services.

If any services associated with this connection are not running, they automatically start when you log into the database with Toad.

  1. Click Add to add additional services.

Tip: To remove a service, select it from the list and click Remove.
