Add Shortcuts to Other Applications

Use External Tools to create a shortcut link to any application you want to launch from within Toad.

Note: This topic focuses on information that may be unfamiliar to you. It does not include all step and field descriptions.

To add a shortcut to another application

  1. Click on the toolbar (ALT+T+N+C).

  2. Click Add and review the following for additional information:

    Command

    Click and select the executable file used to launch the application.

    Arguments

    Enter one or more arguments to pass to the command. Separate each argument with a space. If an argument contains a space, you must surround the argument with double-quote characters. For example, if you wanted to open a specific email message in Notepad, you could define the following argument:  

    Command = Notepad

    Arguments= "C:\Program Files\OutlookExpress\mymsg.txt"
