Default Version Control Options

This topic focuses on information that may be unfamiliar to you. It does not include all step and field descriptions.

Notes:

(Object configuration only)You can only modify an existing object configuration for version control. If you delete an existing object configuration or have not set one up, you must use the Version Control wizard to create a new configuration. See About Version Control for more information.
You can override default folders for specific object types and scripts from the Locations page.

To set default version control options

Review the following for additional information:

Version Control Project

Click and select the folder to use as the default project folder. To create a folder (recommended), click New Project in the Select Project window.

Default: Server name

Format to use for create script file names

Specify the default name format to use for object creation scripts (objects are archived as script files).

Note: If you want to order these in a certain way, delete the default format first.

Tips:

To navigate to the directory where option settings are stored, click the Application Data Directory link in the About dialog (Help | About).
To search for a partial or complete option name or value, use the Search field at the bottom of each Options page. See About Options for more information.
