You can use Toad's FTP (File Transfer Protocol) tool to transfer scripts, reports, or other files. Toad supports FTP and secure FTP (SFTP) file transfers. You can also specify a proxy server for an FTP connection.
To create an FTP connection
Select View | FTP Connections.
Click
in the FTP Connections toolbar.
Enter the connection information. Review the following for additional information:
| General tab | Enter the FTP connection information. |
| Proxy tab | |

Enable proxy |
Select to enable the specified proxy. |

Type |
Select the proxy type. |
|
Address |
Enter the proxy server address. |
|
Requires authentication |
Select if the proxy server requires authentication. Enter the authentication information. |
| Advanced tab | |
|
Local |
Specify the default local directory that you want to associate with this connection. |
|
Remote |
Specify the default remote directory that you want to associate with this connection. |
|
Restore directories on reconnect |
Select to automatically open the specified local and remote directories when reconnecting. |
| Test | Click to test the connection. |
Click Connect to save and open the specified connection.
Note: You can click Save to save the connection without connecting.
To transfer a file using FTP
In the FTP window, do one of the following:
| To transfer a file to the selected remote directory... | Right-click the file in the local directory and select Upload. |
| To transfer a file to the selected local directory... | Right-click the file in the remote directory and select Download. |
