Define XML Schemas

XML Schema collections are used in Message Type definitions to specify the content allowed in messages.

Note: This topic focuses on information that may be unfamiliar to you. It does not include all step and field descriptions.

To define XML schemas

  1. Select XML Schemas from a SQL Server instance.

  2. Create or Edit an XML Schema.

  3. Review the following for additional information:

    Schema

    Specify the relational schema that the XML Schema collection belongs to. Click to select a schema.

    XML Schema Collections

    (Displayed when creating an XML Schema Collection)

    Enter the XML schema.

    New XML Schema Component

    (Displayed when modifying an XML Schema Collection)

    Enter the new schema component.
